You had enough?
You are staring at the computer
cursor is blinking
someone on the other end
just hung up the phone
and you feel like throwing the phone
but you cant
It’s the latest iPhone !
So you throw the towel
literally
Sometimes life overwhelms us
the multi-tasking bubble breaks
and we get crushed under the weight of
Expectations
our own
our family
our partner
our boss
our teacher
our cat
And we want to call it quits!
We had enough
“Enough is enough!” you say
You want to chuck all the hard work
goto a quiet place
shed some tears (ok maybe a lot)
on what a waste it has all been
and then find your last remaining resolve
to go and
eat
tender coconut ice cream
and get on
with a new project
(krreeeee – sound of tapes rewinding… yes I am from that ancient age)
Captain America “We will do whatever it takes”
Ok not that rewind
To the time before you threw the towel
Literally
When we are in a sense of overwhelm
we need a Circuit breaker
a circuit breaker which trips the
negative self-talk which is
running wild like
giant ants out of an anthill in
Indian Jones and Crystal Skull movie
Watch the video below (not movie) for a handy tip by
Steve Smith
Ex Navy Seal and now
Fitness and Conditioning Coach
He calls it out as
“Quit Demon” and then
he reminds himself
why he is here
He says
“Training to compete”
When we are in a state of overwhelm
We need to first recognize the feelings, emotions and thoughts running wild
and then name it
or as Steve says
“Name and Tame it”
And then have an anchor
a word a sentence or a mantra
to refocus on our purpose
on the reason WHY you are doing what you were doing
on your Dharma

Ask yourself
What mantra will you use to arrest the “Quit Demon”?
