A common question in Indian households is
“what should we eat today” and
there is a fair amount of effort
which goes into delivering that mission
At a mundane level,
an organization asks
“how much should we sell
to generate what level of profits?”
and then a large amount of effort
goes in hopefully delivering that mission
At a profound level,
an individual could ask
“Whom can I seek to serve today and how?”
and any effort in that direction
will generate fulfilment of that mission
The same individual could ask the question
“What can I take or consume from this world?”
and others will have to put
in a large effort to
generate happiness for that individual
We live in a world created by our questions
David Cooperrider started the
a movement called Appreciative Inquiry
which along with positive psychology
has changed how
we look at life and at individuals
Instead of looking at individuals as defects
which need to be repaired,
AI encourages individuals
to ask those questions which
help them grow their strengths
and lead a fulfilling life
How can you apply it in your life?
Start by observing and noting
all the questions you are asking yourself
and others through the day
Then ask yourself,
Are these the right questions
for me to ask?
Are these the questions around
which my life should revolve?
Choose your questions wisely because the answers decide the story of your life
