Have you ever tried changing a habit?
How did that work out?
Do you want to change or
improve your studies/ job/
career/ business/ relationship or life?
Here’s a 13 step plan to frustration
“What? Frustration? Why”
How many times have
we read a 5 step or
9 point checklist or
1001 tips to do so much self-development?
Are the writers of these plans
and checklist frauds?
Not at all.
They genuinely want to help you
however they miss a critical point
“What’s that?”
All existing habits and patterns
are coping mechanisms
for some events in our past
and then as we experienced
those events recurring,
we went into an automatic habit loop
Eg When you were a child and
you wanted something
which was not coming your way,
you threw a temper tantrum.
You got what you wanted.
As you grew up,
every time you wanted something,
you threw a tantrum or
just got angry
and you got it.
Now, just because your doctor
told you to do anger management,
are you going to stop being angry
even though you have
the shiniest 4 step anger to ice cool plan?
No
“So what? I just live with this?”
Mark Manson says ask yourself
“what will I lose?”
whenever you embark on
a change or self-development program
Uncovering this right at the start
helps in sticking to the new routines
else you will be back where you started

Ask yourself
What will I lose?
What do I have to sacrifice to be on this new habit pattern?
Am I ok with that sacrifice?
