Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world, Today I am wiser so I am changing myself
Rumi
Our day starts and ends with our comfort zone
anyone or anything which disturbs it
we will change it or want to change it
If we are used to a particular spot
in our gym or yoga studio
and someone dares take that spot
we will snatch back that place
If we are driving down the road
and suddenly, someone dares cut lanes
we will yell or show fist or glare down the person
to show his place
If we are used to eating a dish in a particular way
when we goto a restaurant
we will instruct in detail
how we want the dish
We always want things or events
our way as it is the best way
and it works for us
And if we don’t get it
we will change the world
to get it
What’s there to change in me
when I can make so many changes
around me?
Eventually when we realise
that all the emotions and mental states
we seek from objects, people or experiences
are already inside us
Eg joy, happiness, excitement, fun
When we realize that
our inner world and our perceptions
colour everything around us
The proverbial light bulb switches on
Today I am wiser so
I am changing myself

Today,
Ask yourself
What aspects of objects, people or events
will you stop changing?
