What would you choose – past or future?

inside santosh kanekar

Unknown past or Unknown future, what would you choose, if you had a choice to travel time?

We make sense of the world
in two dimensions:
space and time.

Hence we use terms like
journey of life because
it gives us a sense of both
distance (or space) and time

We are obsessed with either
past or future and
Want to establish a meaningful
relationship with them:

Either we are nostalgic, wistful, hankering
or traumatized, depressed
about our past

Either we are excited or
anxious about the future

Space is something we like
to acquire and
get more and more of it.
Space is a luxury

And yet what we contain
is a universe where time and
space both don’t exist

If you just sit still and
watch your breathing,
going in and out,
in and out,
first there is a bodily feeling
of relaxation,
then a sense of pleasantness
and if you persist,
then a sense of absorption with the limitless

In that zone,
there is only a feeling of vastness
and there is no sense of time

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us

Take 10 mins out of your schedule and
practice this technique:

Notice your breath going in and out of your nostrils

Notice the temperature of air going in and out

Notice the sound (if any) of the air going in and out

Fix your attention on the sensation on the nostrils as the air is going in and out
